There are no insects in my room. There's no reason for them to be here. We have zero food garbage.
There are a few in my bathroom, but none of them are the bitey kind.
I saw a big cockroach, as big as my thumb to the 2nd knuckle, in the kitchen area across from my room.
Today as I walked home from the cantina, I walked on a path through the green belt beside the river, the green belt with the gazebo, the bell, and the footbridge... and crossing the path all around me were hundreds of dragon flies the size and color of my pinky finger, flying around on their cellophane wings.
Finally, the guy down the hall caught a huge cicada, fatter than the fat cockroach; it looked ancient. He had a clipping of the branch it was on, and cupped it between his hand and a glass tumbler.
When he showed it too me, I couldn't help thinking, why the hell does he have a glass tumbler?
